The build
Asphalt that had been patched three times finally gave up. The homeowners wanted something that would still look right in twenty years.
Vehicular work means a different standard: 16 inches of compacted base in lifts, 80mm pavers rather than 60mm, and 45-degree herringbone, which interlocks the strongest under turning loads.
A double soldier-course border in a contrasting charcoal frames the field and defines the apron transition at the street.
